What is a Life Coach?
A Life Coach is an experienced person who supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance. The learner is sometimes called a coachee. Occasionally, coaching may mean an informal relationship between two people, of whom one has more experience and expertise than the other and offers advice and guidance as the latter learns.
What's the difference between a Life Coach, a Therapist or Mentor?
While therapists and life coaches can be great for improving your life, they’re not the same. The major difference between therapy and life coaching is that life coaching focuses on your goals while therapy focuses on mental health. Coaching differs from mentorship by focusing on specific tasks or objectives, as opposed to more general goals or overall development.
What is the Difference Between Psychology and Life Coaching?
People often get confused between Psychology or therapy and life coaching. These two fields are vastly different. Clinical psychology is the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, whereas life coaching helps mentally healthy people to improve their lifestyles.
Therapists are state-licensed professionals. Coaches aren't.
Coaching sessions focus on the present and future, whereas therapy sessions typically focus on healing from the past.
Therapy sessions are generally more open-ended, whereas coaching sessions are more focused.
Coaching is usually short term, while therapy is usually long term.
Coaching and therapy have different types of goals.
Many therapists take insurance. The majority of coaches do not.
How do I know if I need a life coach?
Deciding to get support in the form of life coaching can be a scary step to take. Actually seeking out help for many is relatively new & often times taboo in families. Here are a few questions to consider if you are unsure of whether this is the step needed:
Am I looking for transformation in my life but am unsure of what to do to get to that point?
Do you find yourself lending support or providing advice to others, however needing support and a safe space to be vulnerable?
Do you need clarity of purpose for your life?
Do you desire to meet goals & make better choices to ensure peace of mind and happiness?
If you answered yes to at least two of these questions, you make a great candidate for life coaching.

As a coach, I cannot guarantee results. You, the client must do the work to receive your desired results.

Is There a Coaching Contract?
Yes, a coaching agreement nurtures the client-coach relationship. The contract sets clear expectations of the services we provide & client expectations.

As your coach I will work with you to forge transformation in your life. My prayer is that you will be happy with the services provided. If any issues or concerns arise, we will work together to identify solutions & strategies to resolve the concern. However, all sales are final.
