Sonya holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management as well as a Master of Science Degree in Leadership from John Brown University (A private Christ-Centered College) where Sonya learned to serve the Lord with her head, whole heart, and hands. Sonya has spent the last 30+ years in Corporate America where she served in various value streams. From Human Resources, IT, Healthcare Administration, Social Service Training and Learning & Development, all of which have allowed her to successfully build professional & personal life-long relationships as well as exceptional client service skills. Through those experiences along with Sonya’s personal struggles she recognized there is a great need for servant leaders who are purpose-driven, enthusiastic, empathetic, patient and understanding of the needs of others.
This pushed Sonya to open her own business, Emboldened a Better You Life Coach & Consulting! Driven by her passion for serving disadvantaged youth and women of color one of her favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Sonya enjoys advocating for individuals to have a growth mindset, empowering them with the tools to become bold & confident and the courage to walk in their God-Given purpose! She emboldens her clients with wisdom, knowledge, and an understanding of who they are and what they have to offer the world!

Besides being a corporate professional, your mobile notary and Life Coach, Sonya keeps quite busy rarely slowing down. When she does slow down, she can be found spending time with her husband Dennis, their four children and four adorable grandchildren. Besides building her business and empowering others, she enjoys a great outdoor concert, traveling, reading and a high calorie-burning boxing workout!
Being a woman of faith, Sonya promotes kingdom building by serving with her head, heart and hands, ensuring ethical business practices, community service & offering kingdom client services. She does so by living out Colossians 4:6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
